Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 10, 2026

Puzzlumina uses a small number of strictly necessary cookies for authentication and preferences. We also load Google’s tag (gtag.js) to measure the performance of our Google Ads campaigns and to enable conversion tracking and remarketing; this sets Google-managed cookies such as _ga and _gcl_au in your browser.

Browser local storage

Besides cookies, Puzzlumina stores a few values in your browser’s local storage. These never leave your device automatically — unlike cookies, they are not attached to network requests — and hold no personal data:

  • puzzlumina_guest_id — the same anonymous guest UUID as the cookie above, mirrored here so guest play keeps working if the cookie is blocked.
  • puzzlumina:cookie-consent:v1 — remembers your cookie-consent choice so the banner doesn’t reappear on every visit.
  • puzzlumina_puzzle_state_v1:<id> — your in-progress puzzle board, notes, mistakes, and timer, kept locally so a refresh doesn’t lose your game. It is not synced across devices.
  • puzzlumina_studio_anon_session_id — an anonymous random UUID created when you use the Studio configurator without signing in, so your draft batch and a guest pack purchase can be matched back to your browser. Contains no personal data.
  • puzzlumina-puzzle-display and puzzlumina-nonogram-display — your puzzle display preferences (e.g. highlighting options) for Sudoku and Nonogram boards.

A few short-lived values also live in session storage, which your browser clears automatically when the tab closes: puzzlumina:trackPurchase:<id> (prevents the purchase-confirmation analytics event from firing twice if you revisit the checkout success page) and rotate-hint:<page> (remembers that you dismissed the “rotate your phone” hint).

You can clear these any time from your browser’s site-data settings; doing so resets guest play, display preferences, and any unfinished puzzles.

Managing cookies

On your first visit you’ll see a consent banner asking whether to enable analytics and ad measurement. We use Google Consent Mode v2 so that, until you accept, ad and analytics storage stay denied and Google’s tag operates in a privacy-preserving mode.

To change your choice later, click below to re-open the banner and pick again.

You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that blocking authentication cookies will prevent you from signing in.
